Xmas Event 2006
Will Grenth return this fall of Christmas 2006? May be a little bit early to start a discussion about but I have nothing better to do.
I was thinking they should do something different this year. I was digging through some old screenshots and I found these... http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/181/xmas4yb0.jpg http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/8012/xmas5cw1.jpg http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/2375/xmas6yf9.jpg http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/4727/xmas3ts3.jpg http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/9717/xmas2qb4.jpg http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/1281/xmas1pu8.jpg Basically, I'd actually prefer a different style this year. Again, sorry for maybe posting this a lil early, but cures my boredom. |

Its really early to start thinking of taht, enspecially since we don't even know if there will be a halloween or chrismas event... maybe it should be "I was thinking we should have the christmas and halloween event again this year", and then start thinking of changing things...
And wow those screens are awsome! It makes me hope that we have a halloween and christmas event even more! |

i vote to bring back the Winterday event complete and unchanged.
they have it made already and should not risk adding new event bugs to the Nightfall recent release. besides everybody seemed to have a lot of fun and it has been a full year so it is not as if we will get tired of it. we had a blast then so let all the people who missed it the first time get it this time. i get to toss out the first snowball lets have the option to drop an exploding gift at a grinches feet to grab all the gifts he grabbed if you are lucky enough |

Let's wait and see whether or not they do halloween again, that should set the tone for whether or not wintersday will return.

I think they prob. won't do halloween because thats an american holiday...i think ( maybe british, i know the origins are from somewhere in europe started by druids).
They definately will do christmas.... thats an international holiday, if not then they would just make it new years gift....i mean its impossible for any country not to celebrate that. |

I'd say Anet is gonna do the Wintersday thing again. I'm sure everyone who experienced the snowball fights (don't forget the dragon arena during the dragon festival, that was fun), is going to want to do it again. Besides, Anet is always going on and on about balance and not making certain people disadvantaged. This means they will almost surely bring back a way to get more candy canes (removes all DP), because they are going for about 750 gold each right now.
BTW, I'm in Australia and no one I know celebrates Halloween. Seeing about 150 people killed within a 1 second time frame at Lions Arch because we didn't jump was quite funny. I'd laugh if they did that again and it wrecked someones survivor title. |

I wasn't playing guild wars when that events took place. Can someone tell me how was it? And how did everyone got that candy canes I understand that they were very common loot because nothing left they are 750.

I started GW just before Wintersday started... Didn't really have a clue what it was all about... Hope it comes back this year.

My accounts 15/16 months old now. :P Last edited by Josh; Sep 11, 2006 at 03:59 PM // 15:59.. |

I hope that they do bring it back. It was fun and i hope that this time their will be new gods doing them instead of Grenth and Dwyana again but if their is another one im sure they will be the two gods again. The last one was alot of fun, hope they do it agian.

what stats does those event helms do are they for showing but no stat or changing look of a helm and a noob question maybe but I have only seen them on warriors (I see only dragon mask on other proffecions) And I really really really want it to be done again I am very curious of it. And I watched the holloween and wintersday memories they were awesome. They had changed all of the outposts and cites. I would give everything to make it again

The fireworks display on Xmas was beautiful as well! Refer to my last 2/3 screenshots on my first post! If your talking about those Yule Caps (santa hats/event helms?), then they gave no bonus, just for looks, I still have mine. Last edited by Josh; Sep 11, 2006 at 04:50 PM // 16:50.. |

The Halloween event was tons of fun, playing "Mad King Says" and rooting for the people picked to play rock-paper-scissors with him. I've still got several ghosts-in-a-box that I just don't feel like parting with. The Wintersday event was a blast! Who can forget running around in snowball fights wielding your favorite candy-cane weapon? Or seeing how many spiked egg-nogs you could come up with? I could understand not having the Halloween event while Halloween is going on, because of Nightfall's release. But, since Tyria & Cantha are on a completely different planet, who's to say how they determine exactly when they celebrate Halloween? Maybe it's got something to do with that place's lunar cycles or something, and not dependent on a date on a calander that no one on their planet even uses!!* *please note the subtle hint that it doesn't have to fall on our Halloween and holding it a week or so later wouldn't be a bad solution. |
